1. John Ogu

The Drava Ptuj of Slovenia midfielder was the shinning light in midfield for the Super Eagles, every good move from the Eagles’ midfield came through Ogu. John Ogu was one of Nigeria’s best players against Algeria.

The midfielder has had limited time playing for Nigeria since the qualifier started but his performance against Algeria oozes confidence ahead of Russia 2018.

2. Ikechukwu Ezenwa

The Nigerian shot-stopper who has been deputizing for the injured Carl Ikeme saved Nigeria on a couple of occasion, Ikechukwu Ezenwa was impressive in goal.

He displayed brilliant reflexes in goal though was unfortunate not to keep a clean-sheet after conceding a late penalty.

3. Leon Balogun

The Fortuna Düsseldorf defender was solid as usual for the Super Eagles at the back, the defender who just recovered from injury has been one of Super Eagles most consistent footballers through out the qualifying process. Leon Balogun was rock solid for the Eagles.

4. Ola Aina

The Hull City defender who is on loan from Chelsea played at left-back and was solid as expected, he made time tackles and made decent overlapping runs to help the Eagles both in attack and defensively. He made his debut for the Super Eagles against Algeria

The Young left-back is definitely one for Nigerians to look forward to in the nearest future.

The Arsenal midfielder was the creative spark for the Super Eagles in midfield, the young midfielder scored Nigeria’s crucial goal against Zambia that qualified them to the World Cup in 2018. The Arsenal midfielder was one of Nigeria’s best players against Algeria.
